3 Impacts of Video Marketing For Business
Marketing is an ever evolving machine. You cannot just think of it as a set of steps and rewards based on what you do. Sure, you could try to fit your internet marketing plan into a box that will have you receiving marginal results, but you’ll find that if you isolate your reach to just a small portion of the online audience, you will lose out in the long term. If you are not diversifying your reach, you are already two steps behind your competition. No matter what kind of business you’re in, no matter what you’re doing on the web, video marketing is going to impact your reach exponentially. Choosing a Format for Your Information Product
Have you been wanting to create an information product, but struggling with the decision about which media platform you should use? There are three basic ones to choose from – text, video and audio – and almost unlimited combinations and variations of those formats.
So which is best? The best media choice when you are creating a product is the one your audience likes best. Are they readers? Do they like to listen to audio while they work out? Does video help them best absorb information?
The topic will also influence your choice of media. Video is often best when you are showing how to do something. Other topics may do well in any of the three formats.
But here’s the thing: You might immediately bristle at the thought of using one or two of those forms of media. For you, maybe writing is a struggle. Or you might hate the sound of your voice – or worry about how you will look on camera. Maybe you are uncomfortable with the technical aspects of audio and video and think they may be “too hard” for you to do.
Add A YouTube Video To Your Blog
Looking for a blog post idea? Posts do not have to be only the written word. A video can make a great post and–here’s the really cool part–it doesn’t even have to be a video you created. Whether you’ve found a video on YouTube that you just have to share with the world or you have created a video and uploaded it to YouTube, adding it to your blog is as easy as click, copy, click, paste, done.
Why Embed YouTube Videos in Your Posts?
You might want to add a video by you or someone else showing how to do something you are explaining in a post. Or you simply might want to share something interesting and useful you found. Although a video can stand on its own, it is a good idea to add some text saying why you are sharing that particular video, describing what it is about, or offering other comments about the content. If it is your video, you might even want to put a transcript of the video on the page. (Lots of people like video, but there are others who prefer text. And the search engines can index the text on the page.)
If you are comfortable creating videos, this can be an easy way to come up with a post. Create a short video, upload it to YouTube and embed it on your site. Even if you have never made a video in your life, though, you can use videos created by others. Most videos on YouTube have simple code that allows you to embed the video. That means that you can legally and ethically copy and paste the video into your site.
How to Embed a YouTube Video
I am going to share the specifics of adding a YouTube video to a WordPress post, but the basic technique will work with many other video sharing sites and other blogging platforms or HTML sites.

Video Name Tags
We humans like to look at pictures, and moving pictures especially fascinate us. Wearing a video name tag can certainly grab attention at networking events, trade shows or on the sales floor.
There are several brands of video name tags available, and most seem to work in pretty much the same way. Upload a video or slideshow via USB, attach the video player to your shirt (or wear it with a lanyard) and play. The players come with a rechargeable battery with a life of six to ten hours, depending on the device and how it is used.
It seems that the video could be a distraction in a routine sales situation, but a video-playing name tag would certainly get attention at your next networking event. If nothing else, it would be a great conversation starter.
If you want to use it to show products or other content, the players I looked at allow you to call up more than one video stored in memory, or scroll through a slide show to locate the slide you want. That would be cool at trade shows.
One of the players has a belt buckle frame available, but asking customers to stare at your, uh, belt…well, that just seems wrong.
Several video name tags are available at prices ranging from $129 to $149 at Amazon.com.
