Get your WordPress site set up at http://MyFavoriteWebHost.com/ (That is my affiliate link for the web hosting service I recommend. Try it, you’ll like it!)
Anyone who has a business or wants to be seen as a leader in their field needs to have an online presence. And, no, that does not mean a Facebook profile. Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, LinkedIn and other sites can be useful, but you need to have a site that you own and control. Popular sites come and go. (Remember MySpace? Anyone? Bueller?) And if you do not own the site you are on, you can be thrown off the site at any time. It has happened on Facebook, Blogger, Squidoo and many other platforms: someone built a business there and one day it was gone.
Many people avoid setting up their own site because they think it is expensive or difficult. It is neither. You can have a WordPress site up and running in just a few minutes. In the video above, I show you how. There will be other videos, coming soon, to show you how to customize your site, how to add content, and how to monetize your site.
Get started today–watch the video, then set up your site and get started.
P.S. Subscribers to IdeaLady Insider get a free guide on the The Basics of WordPress. It is an illustrated tutorial to help you get your site up and running. I am so excited about setting up a website at Word Press.

Kathy,
Hope you use a theme that is easy to customize and is used primarily for affiliate marketing (Amazon, CPA, etc.)
Thanks
Ron
Ron, a lot of the themes made specifically for affiliate marketing are not free, and we are going to use a free theme. There are a number of plugins (some free, some paid) that are useful for affiliates, too. That isn’t going to be our focus in this first phase, but maybe we can get to the topic of affiliate-specific set up soon.
Thanks for the comment.

Is there anywhere that BlueHost will allow you to look at the templates before buying?
Anne, you don’t use templates with WordPress, you use themes. And those will be the same no matter what hosting company you use. I will be showing a few free themes you can use with WordPress that are easy to customize and give your blog/website an attractive, professional look.
P.S. If you decide that you are not happy with Bluehost, you can get a refund for unused service at any time, so there is no risk. But I think you will be happy with them.

I tend to use the WordPress auto script installation and which is why I usually choose hosting providers who support the such services. I like avoiding the manual script uploading and that is why I like it that way. Great idea on installing WordPress in minutes thank you! 🙂
