Anyone who has a business or wants to be seen as a leader in their field needs to have an online presence. And, no, that does not mean a Facebook profile. Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, LinkedIn and other sites can be useful, but you need to have a site that you own and control. Popular sites come and go. (Remember MySpace? Anyone? Bueller?) And if you do not own the site you are on, you can be thrown off the site at any time. It has happened on Facebook, Blogger, Squidoo and many other platforms: someone built a business there and one day it was gone.
Many people avoid setting up their own site because they think it is expensive or difficult – leverage browser caching and things like that. It is neither. You can have a WordPress site up and running in just a few minutes. In the video above, I show you how. There will be other videos, coming soon, to show you how to customize your site, how to add content, and how to monetize your site.
Get started today–watch the video, then set up your site and get started.
