A client recently contacted me to ask about an opportunity that had been presented to her. Someone was offering to set her up in an online business that would make money for her without any effort on her part. She didn’t really understand how it worked, but it sounded like a great deal. Fortunately, a warning bell went off and caused her to ask what I thought.
What did I think? If you don’t understand it, do not buy into it. If someone can not explain exactly what the opportunity is, in a way that you can understand, it is not something you should be doing. And if it sounds too good to be true, well, it probably is.
Also ask yourself why they need you. If this business can be set up with little effort and “runs itself,” why don’t they just keep all the business for themselves?
Don’t get so caught up in the idea of making easy money that you suspend your critical thinking abilities. And trust your instincts. My client did, and she turned down the “opportunity.”
