What are you doing to make next year a huge year for you?

It is hard to believe that this year is almost over. Some things I had planned to accomplish this year did not get done, but lots more did.
I keep a large calendar on my office wall with appointments, workshops, travel, etc. written in. By the end of each year, the calendar is always filled with multi-color jottings. What amazes me is how next year starts filling up so quickly. My calendar for next year has more than 50 entries already (and that doesn’t count things like dentist appointments!)
Add to that the projects I have planned and the stuff that will come up along the way, and next year will be my busiest year yet. That is not a complaint. Although things get pretty hectic sometimes, I appreciate all “busy-ness” I have.
What are you doing to make next year a huge year for you? Things may be a little slow right now, so this is a good time to lay the groundwork for the coming months. Update your marketing plan, start writing that book, set up a new Web site, create a new product (or update an existing one), and get ready to hit the ground running in 2006.
Start right now by writing some events on your calendar. Do you belong to a professional association, but never get to the meetings? Put them on your calendar. Are there other things you never seem to find the time to do? Set aside time in your schedule to make them happen. Treat the time you schedule for writing or making calls or working on your Web site as seriously as you would a client appointment.
Stop simply going from one “urgent” project to the next. Plan to do the things you need to do to build your business, then do them. You will see the results in your business.
P.S. This is also a good time to think about your pricing. Are your prices and fees too low? Raise them. Do you have all the business you can handle? That is another sign that it is time to raise your prices.
